Participating in mock trial competitions is a great way to learn how to apply specific laws, gain hands-on simulated trial experience, and develop skills such as critical thinking and public speaking. In mock trial competitions, students act as attorneys in a simulated trial. Teams will compete in at least two rounds where they take turns arguing for both the plaintiff and defense. The judges for the competition are volunteer attorneys.

The Mock Trial occurs once each semester.

In order to get an idea of the competition, feel free to take a look at the Fall 2007 problem and Spring 2008 problem. Also, take a look at an explanatory In-House Mock Trial Seminar PowerPoint presentation that presents various trial issues you should familiarize yourselves with.

Pre-Requisites for Mock Trial Participation
