Should you already own a relatively new laptop or choose not to purchase a Dell through the student program, your portable computer must meet the following minimum specifications. Please make sure your computer is able to connect to the network.

Windows

  • Operating System: 64-bit versions of genuine Windows 11 (version 23H2, 24H2 and 25H2) - Windows 11S mode are NOT compatible.
  • English (United States) Language Pack must be installed.
  • Processors: Intel i5 or i7, AMD Ryzen 5 or 7, Snapdragon ARM cores. (For Examplify, ARM processors are only supported on Windows 11 24H2 and higher).
  • 4GB required; 8-16 GB of RAM recommended.
  • Hard drive: At least 4GB available space. Recommended: 20% free of total disk drive space.
  • 802.11 g/n/ac wireless and /or Internal Ethernet 10/100.
  • Camera with integrated microphone (external headset not allowed).
  • Screen resolution should be at least 1280x768. Scaling should be set to 100%
  • Administrator-level account permissions.

Mac

  • Genuine versions of OS Sonoma (version 14), Sequoia (version 15), or Tahoe (Version 26). Server version of Mac OS X is NOT supported.
  • English (United States) Language Pack must be installed/enabled.
  • Processor: Intel or Apple M series pro processor.
  • 4GB of RAM or higher (8GB or more recommended).
  • Hard drive: at least 4GB available storage space. 20% free of total disk drive recommended.
  • 802.11 g/n/ac wireless and /or Internal Ethernet 10/100.
  • Camera with integrated microphone (external headset not allowed).
  • Administrator-level account permission

Tablets

  • Surface Pro tablets are supported
  • Physical keyboards are required for Examplify. 
  • Android tablets, iPad and iPad Pro are NOT compatible or supported

Note

  • Windows 11s, are NOT compatible or supported
  • Chromebooks and Linux are NOT compatible or support.
