Should you already own a relatively new laptop or choose not to purchase a Dell through the student program, your portable computer must meet the following minimum specifications. Please make sure your computer is able to connect to the network.

Windows

  • Operating System: 32-bit and 64-bit versions of genuine Windows 10 version 22H2, Windows 11 (version 21H2, 22H2)
  • English (United States) Language Pack must be installed.
  • Processor: Non-ARM processor supported by your operating system
  • 8GB of RAM recommended; 4GB required
  • Hard drive: At least 4BG available space
  • Internal Ethernet 10/100 and/or 802.11 g/n/ac wireless
  • Camera with integrated microphone (external headset not allowed)
  • Screen resolution should be at least 1280x768. Scaling should be set to 100%
  • Microsoft Office
  • Administrator-level account permissions.
  • NOTE: Alternate Versions of Windows such as Windows RT, Windows 10S are NOT supported

Mac

  • Processor: Intel or Apple M1, or M2 - Devices using Apple's M1 and M2 processor and Apple Rosetta 2 are supported
  • OS Big Sur (version 11.0), Monterey (version 12.0) and Ventura (Version 13) - Server version of Mac OS X is NOT supported
  • 4GB of RAM or higher
  • Hard drive: at least 4GB available storage space
  • Internal Ethernet and/or 802.11 g/n/ac wireless
  • Camera with integrated microphone (external headset not allowed)
  • MS Office for Mac
  • Administrator-level account permissions

Tablets

  • Surface Pro tablets are supported
  • Physical keyboards are required for Examsoft
  • Android tablets, iPad and iPad Pro are NOT compatible or supported

Note

  • Alternate version of Windows 10; such as Windows RT and Windows 10S, are NOT compatible or supported
  • Chromebooks and Linux are NOT compatible or support
