If you decide to purchase or lease a computer and need financial assistance, be sure to keep your receipt and documentation of payment. You must buy the computer first (within a reasonable time frame prior to matriculation or once enrolled) and submit the receipt and proof of payment by you, the student, to Seattle University School of Law Student Financial Services (SFS). The expense may be added to your student budget only once during your law school career, except it is not allowed during the last semester of enrollment. The allowable expense is the actual cost or a maximum of $1,450, whichever is less. This will increase your alternative (credit report required) loan eligibility. Please weigh whether the financial terms of an alternative loan are more beneficial than the original method of payment.

If you have financial aid questions, please stop by Student Financial Services (SFS) or contact us at 206-398-4250 or email lawfa@seattleu.edu.

It is recommended that you purchase your laptop through the law school's Laptop Purchase Program, but not required. Regardless of where you purchase your portable computer, its specifications need to meet our laptop requirements. You should also make sure your computer is compatible and able to connect to the network.
