The Defender Collective is committed to advancing justice through education, advocacy, and direct service across all stages of criminal defense. We seek to deepen understanding of incarceration, postconviction advocacy, re-entry, and the broader challenges faced by people involved in the criminal legal system. Through collaboration, community engagement, and direct-service opportunities, we empower students to challenge institutionalized racism and inequity in the criminal punishment system and to advocate for the dignity, rights, and freedom of people impacted by it.
