LEAD-WA was established by the Puget Sound Area Minority Fellowship Program (PSAMFP) Board, to provide opportunities for traditionally underrepresented first-year law students in Washington State. Selected fellows will be offered a paid 1L summer position at one of the participating employers. Students from Seattle University, University of Washington, and Gonzaga law schools participate.
Employer members of the LEAD-WA Fellowship Program will host an information session in late October.
Download complete application instructions below. Seattle University law students should apply through Symplicity under the OCI tab.
In November, CPD hosts a 1L Diversity Fellowship reception to give local firms an opportunity to meet with interested students. The 2023 reception will be held on Wednesday, November 9 at 5:30 p.m. in Sullivan Hall.
Local and national law firms also sponsor 2L diversity programs, which offer paid summer positions and a fellowship/scholarship. Application deadlines range from July through September.
