About us

SALDF is a student chapter of the Animal Legal Defense Fund. We are dedicated to protecting the lives of wildlife and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system. We provide a forum for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at protecting the lives and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system and raising the profile of the field of animal law.

In the past few years, we’ve held various events in coordination with members of the legal community, including Animal Lawyers, Animal Pathologists, Animal Control Officers, and the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. As our organization grows, we hope to continue collaborating with like-minded animal enthusiasts in the legal field.

We welcome students of all varieties to help support the mission of SALDF, no matter if you want to practice Animal Law in the future. For membership details, please see the SALDF ConnectSU page. Likewise, feel welcome to follow us @seattleu_saldf on Instagram!
