Biography
Professor Ada Wong is the owner and founder of AKW LAW, P.C., a law firm with offices in Washington and California. She is licensed to practice in California, Washington, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Northern District of California, the Eastern District of California, the Western District of Washington, and the Eastern District of Washington. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Law with a Dispute Resolution Concentration. She represented the law school at two national moot court appellate competitions and was the Executive Managing Editor of the Pacific Rim Law & Policy Journal (now Washington International Law Journal). During law school, she worked at the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office, Seattle City Attorney's Office, and U.S. Attorney's Office. She was part of the Tribal Court Public Defense Clinic and also interned with King County Superior Court Judge Andrea Darvas. Prior to law school, she worked at Heller Ehrman LLP at its San Francisco headquarters and also volunteered at various bar associations and non-profits.
Prior to starting her own firm, Professor Wong was a civil litigation attorney at two different law firms in Bellevue and Seattle. Her civil litigation practice focuses on employment litigation, civil rights, personal injury, business litigation, and simple estate planning. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Washington State Association for Justice's (WSAJ) Trial News, past Editorial Board Member of the American Inns of Court The Bencher, Past President of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Washington (VABAW), and Public Relations Chair of the William L. Dwyer American Inns of Court.
Professor Wong serves as an Arbitrator in King County and Snohomish County. She is a frequent speaker at CLEs and has authored many articles and publications in the legal field. During her spare time, you can find her playing co-ed flag football or hanging out with her husband, daughter, and three cats: Kylo, Soba, and Matcha.
