Involvement

I served as Black Law Student Association (BLSA) vice president during the pandemic and 2020 uprisings. We hosted a series of weekly virtual meetups, focused on creating and maintaining a sense of community among our membership. I also co-founded the Epoch Spotlight Symposium. The symposium and accompanying publication will continue annually as a partnership between BLSA and Seattle University Law Review and has become only the second peer-reviewed issue of the law school's flagship journal. In developing the symposium, the intention was to embody BLSA's mission: to articulate and promote the professional needs and goals of Black law students, to foster professional competence, and to instill in students a greater awareness of a commitment to the needs of our diverse communities.

Passion

I am the product of a tradition of community, and I pay it forward with a sense of gratitude and duty. Completing law school will be one of my greatest achievements. I would not be here without the community of family and friends that have poured into me along this path. While in school, the community of alumni, colleagues, and peers provided support and resources when I felt the most challenged. I feel a duty to cultivate and continue the tradition of community in every space I enter.
