Involvement
I am the editor-in-chief of the American Indian Law Journal; I am one of the founders and treasurer of the Womxn of Color Coalition; and I have been the public interest representative on the Student Bar Association all three years I have attended SU.
Passion
My passion is environmental law because I care strongly about environmental justice, as it intersects with so many issues, like race and class. I grew up in a community that faced environmental injustice, including one of the highest rates of asthma in the U.S., yellow-tinted water, and high rates of miscarriages and birth defects, all because of pollution. Having a JD is such a privilege in this country, and I could not imagine doing anything better with my degree for my community and others like mine than practicing environmental law.
