Involvement
I have spent nearly three decades as a grassroots activist for social justice causes. As a father to multiple special needs kids, my latest activities have centered around Special Education advocacy. Most recently, I appeared before the Washington State Legislative Committee on Education in support of a bill to repair special education laws that allow Washington schools to illegally deny education to students with disabilities.
Passion
I have seen the benefits of advocacy firsthand. My children benefitted from the advocates who came before us. We in turn have opened the door a little wider for those who come next. Generational change happens when community advocacy occurs.
