Labor and employment law

Involvement

I entered SU with a two-fold purpose: to represent and serve my community, and diversify the legal profession. In fulfilling this two-fold purpose, I was involved in the following: senior online editor, Seattle University Law Review; board member, Alternative Dispute Resolution; founder and president, Filipino Law Students Association; president and elder, Asian Law Students Association; secretary, Womxn of Color Coalition; membership chair and alumni representative, International Law Society; 1L section representative, Public Interest Law Foundation; and member, International Refugee Assistance Project.

Passion

As an Asian Filipino American woman and first-generation legal professional, my lived experiences and identity drive my passion and interest in labor and employment law. Regardless of race, gender, blue- or white-collar job, employee or employer, labor and employment law impacts everyone in this country because it is foundational to an operating society. As an employer defense attorney, I aspire to use my voice, influence, social justice background, platform, and J.D. as a force for good, counseling employers to maintain compliant, ethical, and compassionate working conditions. Moreover, I strive to provide pro bono service to make the law more accessible by supporting individuals and BIPOC communities through educational resources. Overall, labor and employment law provides me with a plethora of opportunities to make a meaningful impact in society.
