Class of 2023
Law
Immigration and criminal defense
Involvement
I was a first-year fellow with the Access to Justice Institute and a research and technical editor on the Seattle Journal for Social Justice. I also served on the board of the Seattle University Post-Conviction Appellate Alliance, which connects law students with volunteer opportunities in post-conviction work. I am a PILF grantee and Justice John Paul Stevens fellow.
Passion
I think everyone who has the privilege of obtaining a legal education has a duty to use that knowledge to empower the community. As a lawyer, I want to advocate for individuals caught in complex and oppressive systems, such as the immigration system or criminal system. I also want to be part of outreach efforts that make legal knowledge more accessible to all people, so that communities have the tools to stand up for their rights.
