
Lori Tonnes’ law practice focuses on business and intellectual property law. She served as Patent Associate for University of Washington CoMotion, General Counsel for Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences (a non-profit biomedical research institute co-founded by GlaxoSmithKline), and Senior Director of IP and Legal at Monod Bio (a biotech startup company co-founded by 2024 Nobel laureate David Baker). Lori also served as the President of the Seattle Intellectual Property Inn of Court in 2024.
Lori holds a BS in Biology from Western Washington University, a JD with a concentration in Intellectual Property from the University of Washington, and an Executive MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. She has been licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 2010 and has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 2013.
