Biography

Crystal Pardue (Chumash) is a Staff Attorney with the nationwide Racial Justice Program at the ACLU, where she focuses on the Indigenous Justice docket as well as the general racial justice docket. She litigates in state and federal courts across the country on a wide range of issues, including education equity, environmental justice, and free speech. She is a founding member of the ACLU's Indigenous Justice Working Group and speaks semi-regularly before public and professional groups to critically examine the continued legacies of American imperialism.

Crystal has also served as outside counsel for several sovereign tribal nations, advising on matters including sacred site protection, sovereign immunity, and amendments to tribal codes and constitutions. She completed an Equal Justice Works Fellowship (2019-2021) with the ACLU of Washington, holds a BS in Political Science from Portland State University, and a JD from the University of Washington.
