Biography

Professor John Eason joined Seattle University from Tulane University Law School, where he had taught since 2000. Before that, he taught at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and was in private practice at the Brookes, Pierce law firm in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is an Academic Fellow with the American College of Trusts & Estates Counsel (ACTEC) and served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Law School from 2015-2017. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of federal taxation, trusts and estates, nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations, asset protection, elder law and property. He graduated summa cum laude from Duke University School of Law and graduated first in his LL.M. in taxation program at the University of Florida College of Law.
