Cornelia Brandfield-Harvey assists clients in resolving a broad range of litigation disputes in state and federal court and in arbitration. She has chaired trials, examining witnesses on the stand. She has taken over 50 depositions in her career, argued hearings, and authored briefs submitted to the 14th Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Texas.
Her experience includes data privacy litigation, commercial and employment litigation, white collar crime, Title IX and discrimination claims, antitrust suits, partnership disputes and securities litigation. She spearheaded representation in court for more than 20 clients in a high profile case against a well-known NFL athlete.
She previously practiced at Fox Rothschild LLP in Seattle and at a major Plaintiffs’ law firm in Houston, Texas, The Buzbee Law Firm. Before that, she was an Assistant County Attorney in the Litigation Department of the Harris County Attorney's Office. She was a contributing writer for the Journal of Consumer and Commercial Law at the University of Houston Law Center, and a recipient of the 2016 Texas Mediators Credentialing Association Award and the 2015 and 2016 UH Law Summer Public Interest Fellowship Award. During law school, she interned in the Asset Forfeiture Division and the Children's Assessment Center of the Harris County District Attorney's Office. She also served as a legal extern in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Idaho and held a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Katherine Cabaniss of the 248th Criminal Court.
Cornelia is an accomplished fencer. She was a member of Columbia University's varsity fencing team and the United States Junior and Senior Olympic Women's Epee Fencing Teams. She is a former Senior Women's Epee Fencing World Championship Gold Medalist and Silver Medalist.
She is currently licensed in Washington, Texas, District of Columbia, EDWA, WDWA, SDTX and EDTX.
