New JD student orientation

Welcome to the Seattle U Law community! We have created an informative Orientation program that’s designed to:

• Build foundations for academic success
• Create a shared understanding of our law school’s values
• Communicate classroom expectations
• Convey what it means to enter the legal profession
• Answer any questions you may have about the law school experience

2025 Summer Start students

• Summer Orientation will take place the week of June 10, 2025. You will receive further details via your SU student email. Students can choose to attend orientation in-person or online.
• In May, we will register you for your summer course. Except for Access Admission students who will take the daytime section of Criminal Law, you can choose between day or evening sections of Criminal Law.
• Upon registration, you will receive details about required textbooks, first assignments, and more.

2025 Fall start students

• Online asynchronous learning via Canvas is available starting August 1.
• Fall Orientation takes place the week of August 18, 2025
• Students are required to attend fall orientation even if they attended summer orientation.
• Each student group will have different schedules to attend. Please refer to emails sent by Student Affairs staff for your schedule tailored to your student status.

2024 Admit Packet
