Alexandra Furtney
Class of 2028
"As someone who graduated undergrad seven years prior to starting law school, summer Criminal Law was just what I needed to ease back into academia and into the mindset of being a student again. By the time I finished the course, I felt completely confident in my understanding of legal terms of which I previously only had surface level knowledge, and briefing cases became second-nature to me. This experience also helped me figure out which note-taking strategies and study tools actually worked for me and which ones didn't. Having a grasp of these foundational terms and strategies allowed me to focus on the content of my doctrinal classes in the fall, rather than being overwhelmed with figuring out how to study effectively. Lastly, summer Criminal Law allowed me to develop a close camaraderie with my classmates, making the first day of fall semester feel much less intimidating, as I already felt right at home."
