About The Division:

The division regulates Washington State-chartered commercial banks, stock savings banks, mutual savings banks, alien banks, savings and loan associations, and independent trust companies. We work directly with the institutions we regulate through examination and supervisory activity to be sure that they provide adequate and proper services to the public. We seek to ensure the protection of the interests of depositors, borrowers, shareholders, and consumers.

About The Externship:

Under the direct support and supervision of the Division of Banks, Chief of Regulatory Affairs, the extern will assist in a variety of legal projects associated with: interpreting existing laws and regulations; participating in the legislative process in relation to certain RCWs and WACs; chartering and licensing new institutions; legal analysis related to consumer complaints; various enforcement actions and/or pending litigation; and, M&A and bank branching activity.
