The Scholars Corner

The faculty at Seattle University School of Law is a talented group with diverse interests and expertise, and a passion for teaching the law. In the Scholars Corner we feature members of the faculty whose recent scholarship directly pertains to our alumni and their practice of law.

Deirdre Bowen, Associate Professor of Lawyering Skills, currently has three articles that will prove to be a good read for “on the ground” legal practitioners. In parentheses below, Professor Bowen has listed the area of law that the article most directly relates to.

Chris Rideout, Professor of Lawyering Skills and Associate Director of the Legal Writing Program, recently had his article, Penumbral Thinking:  A Study of How Metaphors Work in Legal Argumentation, accepted for publication in JALWD:  Journal of the Association of Legal Writing Directors. Professor Rideout’s article will appear in a symposium volume on Narrative and Metaphor in Law.
