Problems pasting in the new CMS v8

Some users have had trouble pasting content into the CMS, using the paste dialogue box that pops up. Sometimes, the content won't paste into the box. Other times, the 'Insert' button doesn't do anything when clicked. This is a browser issue. If you run into this problem yourself (with paste or any other task that uses popup dialogue boxes) try using several different browsers (FireFox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.), until you find one that works.

Events on the Home Page Listing Event Date Twice

If you're submitting an event listing, through our Xite submission form, for a single day event, do not enter an end date for the item. Leave the Event End Date field empty and your listing won't accidentally list the event date twice.

How to Post Events and Announcements to the Calendar and Dockets

Anyone can post events and announcements to the calendar and dockets. Just log in to the Xite Event/Announcement Form and start entering your event information. Here's a run-down on how the data from each form field is eventually displayed on the website, on the calendar, the Home page, and the event detail pages:

Your Name - In case there are any issues with the posting.

    1. Event Title
    2. Event Abstract
    3. Full Event Description - This field should include all relevant details, including RSVP requirements and any external website URL with more information.
    4. Location (optional)
    5. Event Date(s):
      1. Event Start Date
      2. Event End Date (optional) - Only use if your event spans several days
    6. Event Time:
      1. Event Start Time (optional)
      2. Event End Time (optional)
    7. Event Photo (not a form field) - An optional event photo can be sent to the Communications department for addition to your event posting.

    1. Publish to Calendar- This determines where your event will appear; by default, all events will appear on the Master calendar.
      • Academic - Event will appear in the sidebar of the Academics section front
      • Admission - Event will appear in the sidebar of the Admission section front
      • Alumni - Event will appear in the sidebar of the Alumni section front
      • ATJI - Event will appear in the sidebar of the ATJI section front
      • CLE - Do not use this label unless your event is a CLE class or if you have received express permission from the CLE team
      • CPD - Event will appear in the sidebar of the CPD section front
      • Docket - Event will appear in the docket calendar widget (bottom left of screen) located throughout Sullivan Hall
      • Students - Event will appear in the sidebar of the Student Life section front
