Services & Requests

Classroom Technology

All classrooms in Sullivan Hall and the Law School Annex are equipped with standardized, smart podium systems.  To learn more classroom features and tutorials, click here.

Setup Assistance

Technicians from Media Services can be scheduled to come and assist, train, or set up specialized equipment for your class or event. This includes bringing a laptop to a class for a guest speaker, teaching first-time users how to use all of the built-in podium equipment, setting up panel microphones for special events, etc. To schedule assistance and/or setups, please fill out our Setup Assistance Request Form.

Checkout Equipment

Faculty and staff can also reserve equipment available for checkout, which includes web cameras, Skype interview kits, audio recorders, photography cameras, camcorders, portable projector, etc. (Students can reserve web cameras and pocket camcorders directly from the Law Library.)  To reserve equipment for checkout, please fill out our Equipment Checkout Request Form.

Recording Services

Media Services can record special events, guest speakers, faculty promotion reviews, and exam reviews for later access online. This is ideal for making guest lectures available to both day & evening students, or for faculty who need to record their classes for their promotion review process. Due to schedule and resource limitations, recording must be submitted directly by faculty,  administrative assistants, Event Administration, or Student Life. To schedule this service, please fill out our Recording Services Request Form.

Telephone Conferencing

In Sullivan Hall and the Law School Annex, each of our classrooms has been set up with an embedded telephone conferencing system. This system is connected to our classroom sound system, allowing students and speakers to have a two-way conversation with other parties connecting by telephone. Portable units are also available for use in specified conference rooms. To schedule this service, please fill out our Telephone Conference Request Form.

Video Conferencing (hardware/appliance based)

For dedicated two-way video conferencing, the School of Law has one portable Polycom video conferencing unit in each building. These have been configured to interface directly with the projection and sound system in each room.  However, the complex setup requires advanced notice, and some limitations apply. To schedule this service, please contact Media Services well in advance to discuss details and set up end-to-end test calls. Once the details have been confirmed, this form will need to be submitted: Video Conference Support Request Form.

Web Conferencing (software/browser based)

The law school has several Skype kits that can be checked out by staff and faculty. To reserve one, fill out our Equipment Checkout Form (above). The law school also maintains a limited-use Adobe Connects Pro license. This is currently reserved for use by the Externship Program and Continuing Legal Education. However, if you have an event or future class that could benefit from this, contact Loren Wells to discuss your goals and evaluate the best options to assist with your needs.

Consultation & Training

Faculty and staff are also welcome to contact Media Services in order to discuss additional needs and ideas. A list of tutorials and tips is also maintained by the department.
