Computer Requirements

Should you already own a relatively new laptop or choose not to purchase a Dell through the student program, your portable computer must meet the following minimum specifications.  Please make sure your computer is able to connect to the network.

Minimum Requirements
  • Operating System: 32-bit and 64-bit versions of genuine Windows 10 (certified versions: 1909, 2004, 20H2)
  • English (United States) Language Pack must be installed.
  • CPU Processor: 2.0GHz Intel i3 processor or equivalent (Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets are not supported)
  • 4GB of RAM or higher
  • Hard drive: Highest recommended for the operating system or 1GB of available space.
  • Internal Ethernet 10/100 and/or 802.11 g/n/ac wireless
  • Camera with intergrated microphone (external headset not allowed)
  • Microsoft Office
  • Administrator level account permissions.
  • NOTE: Alternate Versions of Windows such as Windows RT, Windows 10S are NOT supported
  • CPU: Intel Processor (recommended), Apple M1 chip (only compatiple with Examsoft version 2.6 or higher)
  • 4GB of RAM or higher
  • Hard drive with minimum of 1GB available storage space
  • Internal Ethernet and/or 802.11 g/n/ac wireless
  • Camera with intergrated microphone (external headset not allowed)
  • OS X 10.14.6 (Mojave) or newer.  MacOS Big Sur (version 11.0) only compatible with version 2.5 or higher
  • MS Office for Mac
  • Surface Pro tablets are supported
  • Physical keyboards are required for Examsoft
  • Android tablets, iPad and iPad Pro are NOT compatible or supported

  • Alternate version of Windows 10; such as Windows RT and Windows 10S, are NOT compatible or supported 
  • Chromebooks and Linux are NOT supported
