90 Credit Rule
Students are permitted to register for only as many classes as are necessary to complete 90 law school credits.
Students may not register for more than one course in the same time slot. This prohibition applies even if only a portion of the class overlaps.
Students must generally meet all pre and co-requisites to register for a course.
Requests for pre and co-requisite waivers must be approved by Paul Holland, Vice Dean. To request a waiver, please email Dean Eason. In that email, describe any academic or professional background that might qualify you to take the course.
Full-time students are expected to register for 12 -16 credits during the fall and spring terms and may register for up to 8 credits during the summer term. Part-time students are expected to register for 8 -11 credits during the fall and spring terms and may register for up to 6 credits during the summer term.
Overloads and underloads require the approval of Donna Deming, Associate Dean for Student Affairs. To request an overload or underload please email Dean Deming.
SUOnline allows students to register for a one credit overload. But, to remain enrolled in an overload, students must still request Dean Deming's approval.
