Katy Wallace will be teaching in the Youth Advocacy Clinic this fall.

A graduate of the Law School, Katy has over twenty years of public defense experience.  After a brief stint in Snohomish County, she joined The Defender Association in Seattle as a staff attorney in 1996 and stayed on as that non-profit law firm was brought within the King County Department of Public Defense. Over the years she has represented clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies in the criminal courts and clients involved in sex offender and involuntary mental health civil commitment proceedings.

Since 2012, she has worked almost continuously with juveniles facing criminal charges in Juvenile Court.  Recently Katy has served as the Interim Juvenile Division Supervisor while carrying a partial caseload.  Katy has been trained by the National Juvenile Defender Center to be a Juvenile Training Immersion Program instructor and has used those skills recently at the Washington State Office of Public Defense’s Juvenile Defense Training Academy. Over these several years, she has assisted our clinical faculty and many of our clinic students.
