Biography

Adjunct Professor Gainer was an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Seattle from 1988-1992 where he litigated civil cases and advised the Mayor and City Council regarding civil rights and other issues. He was an associate and partner at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP from 1992-2014 where his practice emphasized litigating computer-related cases civil disputes and advising businesses regarding technology licensing and cybersecurity issues. He was a partner at Baker & Hostetler LLP from 2014-2019 in the firm's Privacy and Data Protection practice group. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
