Karen C. Skantze Bishop (professionally known as Karen C. Skantze) is a practicing attorney and owner of the law firm Skantze Law, PLLC, located in Everett, WA. Before starting her own firm, she was partner and co-shareholder of Schwimmer Skantze, LLP, and in the beginning of her career she was an associate attorney of two boutique law firms located in Everett and Federal Way, WA, respectively. Her main practice area is family law. She is also a mediator with membership in the Washington Mediation Association, having served on its Board, and volunteers with the King County Dispute Resolution Center as well offering mediation services in her own practice.

She graduated in 1998 with honors in her interdisciplinary combined major of political science and rhetoric/ public address from Whitman College located in Walla Walla, Washington. She attended Seattle University School of Law (J.D. 2004), where she was a faculty-scholar nominee, inducted into the National Order of Barristers, a recipient of the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Writing, and a member of the Moot Court Board, accomplished Moot Court competitor, and Chair of the Board in her third year. Since 2004, she has served as a volunteer coach/instructor, assisting third-year law students enrolled in the Moot Court seminar course with developing legal advocacy skills, and was a visiting professor in the Legal Writing Department (2006-2007) teaching both Legal Writing I and Legal Writing II.
