Jon Eddy is Professor of Law at the University of Washington, where he also formerly served as Director of the Asian Law Center. His domestic law specialties focus on the Uniform Commercial Code, complex finance and insolvency, and he has been listed in Best Lawyers in America and as a Washington Super Lawyer. Professor Eddy has divided his career roughly equally between legal academia and private practice. He retired from Riddell Williams P.S. in 2002, having served as managing partner for the firm's business law group. In 2003-4 he served as Resident Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Jakarta, Indonesia and as consultant to Indonesia's Financial Intelligence Unit. Since 2005, he has managed and directed the Legal Education Support Program-Afghanistan, providing provides support to Afghan Law and Shari'a faculties. He has taught at Boalt Hall, UVa, UNC, and a number of other law schools in the US and Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Ethiopia. He has served from time to time as an adjunct or visiting professor at UPS/Seattle University School of Law since 1980.
