Biography

Isabel Freitas Peres is the Director of the Bar Studies Program at the Seattle University School of Law. She teaches the Bar Strategies and Skills course for third year law students. Isabel is a licensed attorney in both the State of New York and the State of Washington, and uses her experience from preparing for Bar exams to design a class that focuses on an intensive and substantive review of Bar tested materials coupled with strategies and exercises to improve students' test-taking skills. She oversees classes and programs designed to help Seattle University School of Law students be successful on the bar exam.

Prior to joining Seattle University, Isabel completed her undergraduate studies in Law in Brazil, where she earned a scholarship to pursue an LL.M. degree at the University of Illinois. After working in a law firm for a year, Isabel was awarded the Erasmus Mundus grant from the European Commission and graduated with a Master's in Law and Economics from the University of Bologna and the University of Hamburg. Before pursuing a J.D. degree, she worked in a corporate law firm in Mumbai, India. She earned her J.D. at the University of Illinois College of Law and worked as a Research Associate at the Illinois Biosciences Institute. Isabel authored several journal papers on renewable energy policy, and she also co-taught a Law and Regulation class at the University of Illinois.
