Introduction to Practice


Professor Mercado is an Attorney at Machol & Johannes, LLC. His work focuses on commercial litigation. He has vast knowledge and experience in Creditor's Rights, Collections and Bankruptcy.

He has devoted his career to representing corporations, financial institutions and governmental agencies in recovering defaulted contracts, in both state and federal court.

In 2015, Professor Mercado was appointed by Daniel T Satterberg, Prosecuting Attorney for King County, to serve as a Special Deputy Prosecuting Attorney representing King County. In 2016, Professor Mercado was appointed by Bob Ferguson, Attorney General of Washington, to serve as Special Assistant Attorney General representing the University of Washington Medical Center.

Professor Mercado was also selected to the Washington Super Lawyers - Rising Stars by Washington Law & Politics in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

In addition, Professor Mercado serves as an arbitrator in King and Snohomish County. He has taught Introduction to Law and Business Law at several colleges and schools, and is a frequent lecturer for various Continuing Legal Education Seminars.

He is admitted in the Washington state courts, Western and Eastern Districts of Washington, and the United States Supreme Court.
