Charles Thulin has practiced employee benefits law for 32 years, currently at Thulin Benefits Law PLLC. He has advised benefit plans, their plan sponsors and individuals on a range of employee benefits issues, including ERISA fiduciary responsibility and correction of retirement plan qualification errors. He is a Contributing Author of COBRA: The Developing Law, published by the Employee Benefits Institute of America (EBIA), for which he has been a frequent speaker. He served as co-chair and vice chair of the Fiduciary Responsibility, Administration and Litigation subcommittee of the American Bar Association's Real Property Trusts and Estate Law section. He has moderated several US Department of Labor practitioners' panels at the annual meetings of the Joint Tax-Exempt/Government Entities Council Employee Plans & Exempt Organizations. He received his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1977, where he was an editor of the Industrial Relations Law Journal.
