Joshua Ashby, Ashby Law Group

Joshua has been working with legal recreational marijuana companies since the industry's inception-his primary focus is cannabis-related business transactions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Joshua is the author of "Lost in the Weeds: An Introduction to Legal Issues for Business People Leading Cannabis Companies." His firm, Ashby Law Group won the 2015 Dope Magazine Award for Best Law Firm and is spearheading the creation of the Cannabis Law Section within the Washington State Bar Association. He received his JD from Seattle University School of Law after attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Aeronautics. When he's not at the office or visiting a client, you're most likely to find him sailing, flying, or in the backyard driving his tractor.

Sativa Rasmussen

Sativa began her career at Ashby Law Group in 2015. Sativa has experience with corporate governance and contract law in both the international sphere and with small businesses. Sativa spent a semester in London studying at Georgetown Law Center before returning to Seattle University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude.

While at Seattle University School of Law, Sativa sat on the board of the Women's Law Caucus, chaired the University's Mentor/Mentee Program, and supported other students as a teaching assistant. Sativa earned awards in Client Counseling, Mock Trial, Mediation, and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award, recognizing the student receiving the highest mark, in contracts, international corporations, and finance.Before attending law school, Sativa graduated magna cum laude from Washington State University, where she earned Bachelor's Degrees in both Political Science and Criminal Justice as well as minors in Sociology and Philosophy.

Dani Espinda (CPA), Rhodes & Associates

Dani is a principal with ACT Resources, PLLC and Tax Manager and Cannabis Business Consultant at Rhodes & Associates, PLLC with 16 years of public accounting experience. Dani graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with high honors and has been a licensed CPA since 2002. She specializes in tax compliance and planning for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates and trusts as well as financial accounting and reporting and QuickBooks consulting. She specializes in medical and recreational Cannabis, with over 275 clients in AK, CA, CO, OR as well as WA but also has extensive experience with manufacturing, real estate, professional services and construction. Dani is a member of the AICPA, CGMA, WSCPA, Marijuana Business Association, Cannabis Women's Alliance and the Estate Planning Council of South King County and has been a certified as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Neil Juneja, Gleam Law

Neil Juneja is the founder of Gleam Law, a cannabis-focused law firm with offices in Washington, Oregon, and California. His practice focuses on trademark and patent law for cannabis brands and inventions. In addition, Neil has written numerous article on cannabis law and intellectual property and spoken at events including in the National Mall in Washington DC, Seattle Hempfest, ABA CLEs, LawProCLEs, and many industry events. Neil also appeared in Newsweek, Time Magazine, and on several documentaries for his work in the cannabis legal industry as well as being selected as one of the 40 under 40 most influential people in the cannabis industry.

Anastasia Gilmartin, Ashby Law Group

Anastasia Gilmartin is an associate attorney at Ashby Law Group. Anastasia has experience working with clients on a variety of transactional and in-house needs, with her primary areas of focus being corporate formation, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance for food and cannabis businesses. She has a keen awareness of the regulatory challenges faced by food manufacturers as they navigate the inter-agency overlap between USDA, FDA, EPA, FTC, and various state and local authorities. The addition of cannabis as an ingredient elevates this challenge and adds another set of regulatory considerations. Anastasia graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in business administration and earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Seattle University.

Joshua Horn, Esq, Fox Rothschild LLP

Joshua is partner at Fox Rothschild LLP and serves as co-chair of both the Securities Industry practice and Cannabis Law practice. Horn understands the needs of businesses in the rapidly expanding and highly regulated market for legalized marijuana. He provides services and guidance to cannabis businesses in the areas of licensing, venture capital, taxation and other related fields. Horn also updates and informs clients on developments in marijuana law and business through Fox's Cannabis blog, "In the Weeds" and a weekly "National Survey on Marijuana Laws and Regulations."

Jennifer Benda, Fox Rothschild LLP

Jennifer is a tax attorney who spent a decade as a CPA before graduating from law school. Jennifer's tenure as a CPA, during which time she prepared tax returns for a wide range of clients, including everything from individuals to Fortune 500 companies, translates well to her current practice as a tax planner and advisor and tax controversy specialist. The tax issues facing the cannabis industry are a unique blend of accounting and tax law problems. Utilizing her experience, Jennifer's unique background allows her to counsel cannabis clients and all clients facing tax challenges in both the accounting and the legal issues they face. Jennifer regularly contributes to the Fox Rothschild's Tax Controversy Sentinel blog providing updates on general tax issues. Jennifer has a BS and MS in Accounting from Texas A&M University and received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.

Rochelle Nelson, Skellenger Bender

Rochelle Nelson's practice focuses on design professional representation and construction law, commercial litigation, and various aspects of employment law. She is admitted to practice in the state courts of Washington, and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. Prior to joining Skellenger Bender, Rochelle worked with a national labor and employment firm providing litigation and counseling services for employers. Her background includes handling class-action wage and hour disputes, and claims for employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and enforcement of non-competition agreements. Rochelle's prior experience also includes her clerkship with the Honorable Charles W. Johnson of the Washington State Supreme Court. Rochelle has volunteered with Columbia Legal Services' LFO Clinic and The Unemployment Law Project.

Danica Noble, Director of NORML Women of Washington

Danica Noble founded NORML Women of Washington in 2011 and she is the current director. Danica is also the Immediate Past-Chair of the Antitrust, Consumer Protection, and Unfair Business Practices Section of the Washington State Bar Association. In 2014, Danica presented at TEDx Kamuela in Hawaii on women's role in ending prohibition.

Gavin Skok, Fox Rothschild LLP

Gavin is an experienced commercial litigator who represents regional and national companies as plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts in the Northwest and across the country. He has litigated several cannabis-related cases and enjoys the challenge of evolving new legal theories and applying traditional legal concepts in a rapidly-advancing industry.

Justin is a distinguished business leader with emphasis in start-up opportunities across mobile communications, consumer electronics, and information technology industries.
