Angela Harris

Angela Harris is an Executive Committee Member of the Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice. The author of dozens of articles and books, Professor Harris is a leading scholar in the areas of feminist legal theory and critical race theory. She has received numerous recognitions for her teaching, scholarship, and public service.

Honorable Donald J. Horowitz

Former King County Superior Court Judge
Honorable Donald J. Horowitz has had a long and varied career of private practice and public service, as Senior Assistant Attorney General, Judge of the Washington State Superior Court, law teacher, drafter of significant social justice legislation, leader of and participant in State Access to Justice Board initiatives, pioneer in the use of technology to eliminate barriers and increase equal access to justice, and an early and committed diversity and equal opportunity innovator, worker, leader, and mentor. One consistent theme throughout his service is full, energetic, and persistent involvement in creating, delivering, and securing equal, high quality, and practical justice to all persons.

Kevin Johnson

Dean Johnson is a prolific scholar in the areas of immigration law and policy, racial identity, and civil rights. He serves on numerous boards, including Legal Services of Northern California and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund. He is a member of the American Law Institute and has won many awards recognizing his teaching, scholarship, public service, and commitment to diversity. He is one of a handful of Latina/o law school deans in the country.

W.H. (Joe) Knight

Knight is an expert in commercial law, he has authored three books on the subject. He is an active member of several organizations, including the American Law Institute; the Law School Admissions Council; the Society of American Law Teachers; and both the American and National Bar Associations. Knight also serves as a member of the board of directors of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company where he chairs the Legal Affairs Committee of the board.

Karen Korematsu

Activist of Civil Rights
Karen is the daughter of Fred Korematsu, who, during World War II, challenged military orders removing Japanese Americans from the West Coast and into internment camps. Forty years after the Supreme Court rejected his challenge, he reopened his case and won vacation of his conviction on proof that the government had lied to the Supreme Court. Ms. Korematsu has become an activist in her own right, speaking out about her father's cause of civil rights.

Dale Minami

Partner, Minami Tamaki LLP
Dale Minami's history of public service and civil rights litigation dates back to his role as one of the founders of the Asian Law Caucus in Oakland, California, and includes his work as lead counsel in the reopening of Korematsu v. United States. In 2003, in recognition of his achievements, the ABA presented him its Thurgood Marshall Award.

Henry W. McGee, Jr.

Henry McGee Jr's career highlights include serving as a county prosecutor in Chicago, a litigator in a Chicago law firm, a civil rights attorney in Mississippi, and regional director of the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity Legal Services Program. He has served twice as a Fulbright Scholar and serves on the boards of 1000 Friends of Washington and the Low Income Housing Institute of Seattle. Professor McGee is also a violinist with the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra.

Eric Yamamoto

Professor of Law, University of Hawai'i School of Law
Eric Yamamoto is known nationally and internationally for his legal work and scholarship on civil rights and racial justice, with an emphasis on reparations for historic injustice. In 1984, he served on the legal team that successfully reopened the WWII Japanese American internment case of Fred Korematsu.
