LLSA hosts the Alumni Awards in an effort to celebrate the accomplishments of our exceptional Latinx alumni and friends of the law school. This year, Chief Justice Steve González will be delivering a keynote address and we will be presenting three awards to those that have demonstrated the principles LLSA stands for. Judge Bernard Veljacic '98 will be receiving La Justicia Award Javiera Wood '20 will be receiving the Spirit of Service Award Professor Gillian Dutton will be receiving the Latinx Amicus Award In addition to our awardees, we will award six scholarships to LLSA members, who were chosen by a committee of professors looking for remarkable students. With the help of our mentor organization, the Latino/a Bar Association of Washington (LBAW), we also hope to raise funds for the exceptional students to come.
