Application Procedure


Priority application deadline

May 15, 2022 for Fall 2022 Semester Start


  1. Complete the MLS Application Form (PDF) or apply online through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). In addition to this application form, applicants must submit:
  2. Personal statement (1-2 pages) – discuss your background, goals, how you plan to use your MLS degree, and any additional information you would like to convey
  3. $60 (US) nonrefundable application fee (waived for current Seattle University students and alumni).
  4. A resume or C.V.
  5. List of at least three references with contact information (academic or professional references preferred but not required).

The following items must be sent to the law school directly from the appropriate institutions:

  1. Official transcripts from all academic institutions where you have studied. A certified translation must be attached if the transcript is not in English.
  2. If English is not your first language, visit the International Students page for information about TOEFL score requirements.


  • No standardized test (i.e. – GRE, LSAT) is required for admission

  • $65 nonrefundable application fee. The application fee is waived for all students who apply to enter Spring Term 2022.
