New Student Orientation

Orientation is an important opportunity for you to be introduced to an inclusive learning environment, construct the academic foundations for success, and to understand the values of Seattle U Law. There are three phases to Orientation. The first two will take place in mid-June for Summer Start students, with both online and live presentations that will allow students to apply legal principles to a hypothetical client's dilemma. Library staff will also distribute passwords for the three online legal databases used by students, and representatives from LexisNexis and Westlaw will introduce their products.

The third phase occurs in August and is designed for both summer and fall students. This phase will engage students with what it means to enter the legal profession and to learn more about classroom expectations.

Detailed information about the Orientation program will be sent to Summer Start students in early June. August Orientation information will be distributed in July.

Summer Criminal Law Registration

The Registrar will register all Summer Start students in May. At that time, students will receive detailed enrollment information, titles of required textbooks, and more. Students may choose a day or evening section of Criminal Law. Access Admission students must enroll for the full-time summer session and will receive confirmation from the Registrar in May.
