2018 DV Symposium

8:30 a.m.  -  5:00 p.m.
Location: TBA

A collaborative symposium promoting critical and innovative thinking for prosecution, law enforcement, civil and family law attorneys, advocates, judges, law students, social workers and child welfare professionals, corrections, mental health/healthcare professionals and others responding to survivors of gender-based/domestic violence.

Registration will open the beginning of July.

In 2018 we will focus on successes in DV response and prevention (as well as the contextual factors that play into DV), highlighting data-driven, evidence-based efforts, initiatives, pilot projects or practices in Washington State and beyond. In addition, various speakers throughout the day will examine and discuss methods by which we can address systemic issues of bias and racism in DV response.

Featured Speakers:
  • Judge Ronald B. Adrine (retired), Administrative & Presiding Judge, Cleveland Municipal Court, Cleveland, Ohio
  • Professor Jane Stoever, Director, Domestic Violence Clinic/Initiative to End Family Violence, University of California-Irvine
  • Chief Art Acevedo, Houston Police Department
