Welcome to the Center for Indian Law & Policy
I am very pleased to announce and introduce the Center for Indian Law and Policy at Seattle University School of Law. The establishment of this new Center makes Indian law a focal point among the array of educational opportunities available to our students while furthering our social justice mission through the Center's many programs and activities. The Center is built upon the success of the Institute for Indian Estate Planning and Probate, which opened its doors at SU in 2005 and which has provided services, information and education to Indian people, tribal leaders, students and attorneys. The Center for Indian Law and Policy is uniquely situated to continue and expand the school's service to Indian communities regionally as well as nationally. I invite you to explore the Center and its programs, which offer a diverse array of educational, informational and service opportunities. This Center represents Seattle University School of Law's commitment to making a meaningful contribution to the field of Indian law and to Indian communities in the broadest sense. I look forward to the Law School's interaction and relationships with Indian tribes and people as the Center evolves in future years.
