Classroom Technology

All classrooms in Sullivan Hall come with standardized technologically enabled smart podium systems. Therefore, users only need to learn how to interact with one classroom to know how to use them all. in order to prepare you for using this equipment, we have created a set of resources you can reference.

Assistance &/or Equipment Setup/Checkout

You can schedule a technician from instructional technology to come and either assist, train or setup specialized equipment for you. This includes bringing a laptop to a class for presentation use by a guest speaker, teaching first-time users how to operate our DVD players, scheduling a refresher tutorial on how to use all of the built-in podium equipment, setting up panel microphones for special events, etc. You can also reserve the use of equipment avialable for personal checkout. To schedule our support or equipment, please fill out an Assistance & Equipment Setup/Checkout Request Form.

Video (or Audio) Recording Services

Instructional Technology can record special events, guest speakers, faculty review and make-up classes for later access online. This is ideal for making guest lectures available to evening students, or faculty who need to record their classes for their review process. Due to some limtations and event-load, recording requests need to be processed by administrative assistants, Event Administration or Student Life. To schedule this service, please fill out our Recording Services Request Form.

Telephone Conferencing

In Sullivan Hall and the Law School Annex, each of our classrooms is set up with an embedded telephone conferencing system. This works with our classroom sounds systems, allowing a classroom of students and speakers to have a two-way conversation with other parties connecting by phone. Portable units are also available for use in conference rooms. To schedule this service, please fill out our TC Setup/Assistance Request Form.

Two-Way Video Conferencing

The School of Law has one portable, high-end video conferencing unit in each building, which can be used in various classrooms and offices. However, there are some limitations and advanced notice is required. To schedule this service, please contact Instructional Technology well in advance, once you have more information, fill our our Video Conference Support Request Form.

Web-Conferencing

Instructional Technology has been working with the Externship Program and Continuing Legal Education to develop some web-conferencing services for their needs using Adobe Connects Pro. We currently have a limited room licence. If you have an event or teaching need that could benefit from this, contact Stephanie Zimmerman to discuss your goals and she will evaluate the best options to assist with your needs.
