Our expansive Externship Program will expose you to a variety of domestic and international job placements that provide a bridge from law school to practice. We have more than 600 sites, ranging from the chambers of the Washington State Supreme Court to the International Criminal Court at the Hague in the Netherlands.
If you are interested in pursuing an externship, please schedule an appointment with the Externship Faculty on TWEN.
Please be advised that the In-House/Government Seminar has reached its registration cap for summer 2017, and students may no longer register or apply for credit to sites that fall into the In-House/Government category. Students who already have offers for In-House/Government sites and have informed the Externship Program Office, or students who have submitted an application form and are in the process of applying have a spot reserved in the seminar. No new students will be accepted in In-House/Government Seminar. The Civil, Criminal, and Judicial seminars are still open.
Summer 2017 Appliction Deadlines
There are two separate deadlines for Summer 2017: (1) deadline to inform the externship Program Office that you would like to apply to Summer 2017 externships (2) deadline to submit application sites materials. The deadline to inform the Externship Program Office that you would like to apply to Summer 2017 externships is Friday, April 14, 2017. Please be advised that if any of the externship seminars reaches its registration cap before the deadline we will close off the application process for that seminar early (you will no longer be able to apply to externships that fall into the seminar category, but may apply to other open seminars). Once you have submitted an Externship Application Form, the deadline to submit application site materials to our office is Friday, April 28, 2017.
