Application Process
Thank you for your interest in Seattle University School of Law!
We invite you to complete the request for catalog form for the materials. The new application materials are available in early fall. As a rolling admission school, we will begin accepting applications on October 1st. In the meantime, we welcome your calls and visits to our campus. Please check back to our Web site regarding scheduled Admission programming in the months ahead.
How to Apply
While the application priority deadline is March 1, (February 1 deadline for a completed application for consideration for the Access Admission program) you should submit your application materials at the earliest possible date after they are available. As a rolling admission school, we will begin accepting applications in the fall. You need not wait until you have taken the LSAT and/or received your score. Please refer to our application timeline.
- Complete the Application for Admission online or downloaded from this Web site. Please select one option only. A hard copy should not be sent in addition to an online application. We also accept the Law School Admission Council application available at www.LSAC.org. Because there are now a variety of methods for completing the application, the instructions are not uniformed. Please read the instructions for each format carefully.
- Submit your application to our Admission Office, along with:
(a) an application fee of $60 (check or money order payable to the Seattle University School of Law);
(b) a two- or three-page personal statement that is typed, double-spaced;
(c) a resume detailing your academic endeavors, community service record, and employment history. - Take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Application forms for the test and important information about it are available at your local college or university, Seattle University School of Law, or on the Web site of the Law School Admission Council.
- Register with the Law School Admission Council's (LSAC) Credential Assembly Service (CAS). Information on this service is available at Seattle University School of Law or from the Law School Admission Council Web site.
- Send transcripts of all your undergraduate work directly through LSAC's CAS. If admitted, you must submit an official transcript showing the award of a bachelor's degree prior to enrollment in the law school.
- Arrange to have two (2) letters of recommendation submitted on your behalf. Of particular influence are evaluations from professors or professional colleagues who can comment on your ability to analyze complex material and to speak and write with fluency, economy and precision. Your references must be sent through the Law School Admission Council's CAS. Applicants may also submit one Evaulation through the LSAC.

File Status Check
Thank you for your application to Seattle University School of Law. In order to keep you up to date on the most current information regarding your file, you may check the status of your application weekly. Information will be updated each Tuesday. Please note that it can take up to 3 to 4 weeks for your file to complete based on the timing of the arrival of your CAS report and other materials. We encourage you to make sure that all appropriate transcripts, letters and fees are with LSAC.
Note: All decision letters, with the exception of offers of admission, will be sent via e-mail. Please make sure the Office of Admission has your current e-mail address.
