David A. Petteys

Biography
Since 2002, David Petteys' practice has focused on providing advice and representation in matters involving state and local tax law. He regularly counsels clients on filing refund claims, requesting rulings, managing and defending audits, and other issues involving a wide array of state and local taxes, including sales and use tax, gross receipts taxes, income tax, and ad valoreum property tax. David has represented clients in tax controversy matters at all levels, from administrative appeals to trial and appellate court litigation. Prior to entering the practice of law, David was a revenue agent with the Washington State Department of Revenue.
David has worked at Perkins Coie LLP, Amazon.com, and Lane Powell PC. He was a judicial extern to Judge Thomas S. Zilly, United States District Court of the Western District of Washington in 2002. David has given several seminar presentations, and is working on a journal article regarding Initiative 1082 and income taxation under Washington law.
